Yes Dave, I draw it up on CAD and then the laser just cuts it out of plate.

Enquiries welcome but I can't just bring it home and it has to go through the company books so the price in stainless may be offputting! That said, if it does exactly what you want...

Hi all

A few more questions on my K1 vortex conversion.

The water clarity does not seemed to have changed much after the inital improvement after the first few days.
How often should I be dumping the vortex and cleaning the K1?

I added eco pure to the pond before we were away at the weekend and this is meant to floculate particles as well as BW this has caused a small improvement.

I also have been using Izeki super clean c and Magic powder once a week but am not sure if this is not helping the clarity for a few days.

The K1 seems to stay fairly clean but in slightly green water when I put the air on.

How long would it normally take to clear a pond of fines?

How clear should I expect the water to get?

regards

Dave

Hi Dave,

How clear do you want it to be :?: :?:

Its all about keeping busy and if you want it very clean you may have to clean it every day in the summer i can do mine two or even three times especially when feeding a fair amount

hi, another idea is to stir up the fines that are sitting around in the pond. use a soft broom and give the pond walls and floor a good brush down. also give up with the clay type products your just adding the fines back to the pond.
once youve stirred up the crud youl find that a couple of hours later you will need to aerate and flush the K1 then again a few hours later. its surprising how much dirt and crud is around the pond and can easily be disturbed by the koi as they swim around.

Hi Gazza

I am trying to get it so that I can still view koi sharply whilst they are on the bottom (6ft)

I have the time at the moment to flush vortex and clean K1 three times a day if it will help.

Hi vippymini

I might try to stir it up a bit would you suggest leaving the spindrifters on whilst it is clearing or switch off to let it settle?

regards

i'd leave them on. the more you agitate/stir up the water the more crud will flow through the filter.
