Formaldehyde & malachite green crystals.

Post by Paul24 »

Could anyone advise the appropriate way to dispose of Formaldehyde & malachite green crystals, please? I have some that I no longer wish to keep.

Many Thanks
Paul.

Thank you for your very kind offer, Duncan - I will send you a pm if I post this to you. Do I need to take any special precautions when posting, do you know?

Cheers
Paul.

yes most couriers don't handle liquids so make sure the formaldehyde is secure and there is no chance of it breaking open in transit
royal mail second class will do it

the MG should be fine in a container

how much of each do you have?

Hi Duncan,

Having had a bit of a sort out, I've found quite a few other bits, as well as the F & MG. I've learnt that my local council offer a collection service for hazardous waste, so I'm hoping they will take all of the 'past its best' stuff that I've accumulated over a number of years. I'll post how it goes, in case this is of assistance to others.

Thanks again for your offer to help me out.

Paul.

Just in case it is of any interest to anyone in the future, the various treatments that I'd collected over a number of years were collected under an arrangement provided by the local council for disposal of hazardous household chemicals. It was very straight forward once I'd contacted the relevant person.
