Heater Question....

Post by Louie »

Hi all,

I currently use an Elecro 3Kw analogue electric hater, but want to upgrade to a digital model. A friend has offered me one, but it's only a 1Kw model. Would it be any good on my 11000 litre pond or do I need to stick to a 3Kw one?
Many Thanks,
Louie

Hi Louie,

I would think you would be best staying with the 3kw as the 1kw may struggle with your pond.

Hi Louie

your pond is around 2 419 Imperial gallons heater recommendations is 1KW per 1000 Imperial gallons therefore 3KW heater is trhe best option.
With a 1KW it will struggle to do the job or you will find it will be heating away pretty much all the time costing you more money to run it.

As Gazza said stick to your 3KW one
