Filteration another idea

Post by philkoi »

Just wondering if I can make use of a piece of pipe that has come spare at work...
It is 315mm diameter and just I under 3 meters in length, grey colour not sure the exact material but a version of plastic!!!
It is unused and free... If I cut it to shorter lengths? Could I make some sort of trickle tower or towers!!! Not sure exactly what else I would need internally to build it up or sizes and expected flow rates to put trough it.

would be interested in any help or advice and if it is worth building as another piece of extra kit!!

Hi,

You need to make sure the plastic is food grade as otherwise you could have problems as we have to make sure what we use as some plastics can have a bad reaction with some kinds of plastic. I had a friend who made a shower and it ended up killing some fish as it wasn't food grade and had a reaction with the pond.

If its not a new piece of pipe it would be worth finding out what it has been used for previously.
