newbie advice

hi everyone

im new to koi keeping looking to build a pond in the coming months ( 8.5ftx4.5ftx4.5ft) not gonna go too large as this is my first pond i realise i wont be able to stock a great deal of fish ,need to do a fair bit of research first though could anyone direct me to a good local dealer I live in dartford , kent want to get off on the right foot so too speak cheers!

Hi,

As you are in Dartfoed you could look at joining the SE koi club (http://www.koi-clubs.com/SouthEast/) as these are a great bunch of guys and you could get out and seen some of there ponds as this is a great way to see how ponds are built and what filtration they are using.

We here on Koi Quest also have plenty of members that are fairly local to you so you may even be able to pop round and see a few of our ponds :idea:

In the meantime any books that people could recommend would be great help as well thanks.

Theres a few dealers near you.
Koi waterlife near bluewater
Select koi just off A21 at sevenoaks
Koi waterbarn junction 4 M25
You also have Gatwick koi a little further away and i think there is a couple just over the river in essex.
Like Gazza said you cant beat going round to see other people ponds to get their views on what to do and what to use.
