A new challenge in East London

Hi there members, no this is not about the Olympics.

I am posting this message to inform you that a new koi club is starting up, yes another!

After being involved in koi keeping for a number of years and being part of a couple of clubs along with the BKKS a few friends and I have decided that we wish to start up a new koi club which is looking to promote both the hobby and the fun side of this amazing hobby of ours.

No names have been confirmed yet for the club all though a few of us have already started to label it as the East London Koi Club, but nothing concrete has been set up until a date and location for the first meeting is arranged so that people can air their thoughts, views and what our goals are.

It is all at very early stages but we already have a list of people that are interested in this which is why I am posting today to inform you.

The Club will be basically be looking to promote in and around the East London area, we are not looking to step on other clubs toes as we are not looking to start up a club to compete with shows or auctions as this is not what we are hoping to be about.

We aim to promote the hobby, support local dealers with monthly visits and talks and to provide our members with support and a friendly community spirit which will hopefully see us meet other clubs along the way.

If you are interested in joining this new club or would simply like some details then please drop me a line at eastlondonkoiclub@gmail.com and then hopefully we can start to get some information out to you either by email of via the website www.eastlondonkoiclub.co.uk or from the new Facebook page at www.facebook.com/EastLondonKoiClub eventually there will be a monthly Emag to all the club members.

Thank you for reading

Good evening,

Well club proposal has gone out along with a general rules and guidlines document, all very basic and nothing to call in the solicitor to check over.

The club has drawn some great response and we are now looking to setup a first meeting to basically put some names to faces and have a good old Koi nerd.

As previously mentioned this is a new club looking to promote both the hobby and good koi welfare, if you are up interested in joining the guys and girls then please pencil in the Sunday 19th August from about 12pm onwards for a couple of hours, a venue is still to be finalised but we shall keep you posted in the next week or so.

Kind regards
Graham.

Good evening all,

The first meeting of the East London Koi Club has been and gone and im really pleased to say that officially there is a new club on the block.

A number of things were discussed by all that attended, and one thing is clear which is there is room for the East London Koi Club to grow with the ideas and views that have been aired.

The 3rd Sunday of each month at the Eastbrook Pub in Dagenham will be our main point of meetings, however already we are looking to spend some meetings at members ponds with BBQ and days out to dealers, and of course not forgeting visiting the shows up and down the country to show our support.

The club does have a website which will be used for general use and information but most internal news will be carried out via a members emagazine. Of course you still have the clubs facebook page.

Therefore any clubs out their looking for clubs for pond visits then please feel free to get in touch.

See you all at the South East "All England" Koi Show.

Regards
