are you aware of any info/research to sugest that a vortex/chamber of K1/K2/K3 is any better than a chamber of a japmat cartridge.

what are the pros and cons?

It exists Simon and I am trying to get my hands on it but I think EA may release this sort of information when they do the press release.

Hi Simon,

I believe that the way th K media works it had a bigger surface area in the same volume than matting....i think anyway!!

also a fluidised media will have more bacteria to water contact time than static media.......i think :lol:

Hi Guys as per Bobs request i thought i would put up some more pictures of the Bio Chips.

They are 50mm in diameter and 2.5mm thick and as you can see they have a slant on one side and flat on the other.

Hi gazza
Had a read on the link that Jules put up on the biochip,
To me it does look like its perpas is as a fluidized super fines mechanical filter off course with all the other benefits (bacterial) may be best suited in the last bay.
Any thought on this line rather that static k1.

I don't think it would work as good as Static K1 but hey who thought we would be using a bio filtration for mechanical :D
