Andy,

Hope you had a great honeymoon

At last now you can concentrate on the important things in life - a pond!

Looks like it is coming together well now and you'll soon have it finished

Hi,

I fitted two 4 inch transfer ports into each of the eazy chambers last weekend, using 4inch flange connectors to allow it to be easily fibreglassed as there wont be much room when the filter is fully built. There will be two up pipes fit into these which will create an eazy.

The final three rows of blocks on the eazy chamber will be finished this evening along with the last few facing bricks. :D

Will then be ready for rendering next weekend :D

Hi,

Thought id better update post (As Bob's been giving me stick  )

Been some progress since my last post:

I had pond rendered. I Then rendered the filters the following week-really not much fun when you cant render to save your life and there is not much room to say the least.

I covered the pond ready for fibreglassing-with no rain for two weeks all was looking good. Then the night before i was due to fibreglass the wind picked up and smashed the cover to bits (along with my fence) Then it rained and the pond filled up again! Was a bit annoyed to say the least and took a few weeks of to chill out!

Slowly a plan came together for covering the pond-not the easiest task with British weather. I went out and got another Tarpauling, a load of timber and some ratchet straps. The pond was covered and fingers crossed!

Due to a real lack of cash and a real needd to get the pond finished asap as many of my fish have out grown my current pond ive had to opt to do the fibreglassin g myself. Luckily one of my customers sorted out the materials at a good rate for me. Yesterday with the kind help of Stu and Dave we got the pond glassed, as always things took longer than expected so we didnt get to flow coat the pond. This morning Stu came over and we set about Flow coating the pond. :D

Unfortunately the pond is the easy bit-we've got the filters to do next weekend! A real awkward job which im sure will have us pulling our hair out!

Will keep you posted on progress-hopefully should be able to get the hose pipe out in a couple of weeks!

Hi,

Me and Stu managed to get the filters fibreglassed last weekend. Wasnt a lot of fun as there wasnt much space and got a little bit messy to say the least. Filter is just over 500 gallons and is split in to two seperate filters, one fed by the bottom drain and the other from a skimmer. It will be powered by air uplift pipes which will feed the return chamber at the back of the filter which will return the water to the pond via two 4inch pipes. There will also be a large pump added later on to feed a bakki shower. Heres some pics:

Main filter bank

Return chamber

One of the Fluidised K1 chambers

One of the eazy chambers

The coping stones should be here tommorrow and the glass for the windows has been ordered-ready to be fitted the weekend after next. Will be cracking on with the filters next weekend so hopefully i can start filling it up soon!

Hi Bob,

Sorry didnt reply sooner! No water as of yet BUT: :D
Today the air uplifts were fitted, air rings made up and clamps fitted for the filter. Dave came over and has finished all the coping stones and windows! I fitted the bottom drain and purged all the pipes. Basically just need to fit a grill tommorrow and silicone around glass to tidy it up and im ready to fill on Monday! Filters will just be set up as temp measure and will nbe finished once the weather is a bit better. Now all ther building work is complete it almost looks like a pond! Will post some pics tommorrow.
