Congratulation's Bob on a brilliant job (again), if I had known you could fibreglass that well I would of had you do my pond

Idea for the eazy, would a water butt be to big, and I dread to think how much K1 you would need for that.

Great job and I hope the koi have settled down now.

Hi Kim,

I've just dragged a water butt out from the brambles at the back of my garden - spooky eh!

Bob,
Just thought, washing machines are a standard worktop type fitment in a 600mm wide unit. They're pretty tight in the metal, so I wouldn't think theyre any less than 550mm dia by 450mm deep. If me old maths is right, vol of a cyl is pye(can't find the symbol on this f*#£ing keyboard)r squaredxheight. thats 3.1415x0.275x0.275x0.45=0.11metres cubed if me maths is right. x1000= 110litres capacity :?

I must lay down..my brain hurts.....

Niel,
You nailed it. I just measured it and it is 45 cm in diameter and 30 cm deep.

bob, are you just going to use a waterbutt or are you going to be more adventurous in your new found skill and make yourself a fibreglass one using the waterbutt as a mould. :D it'll be much stronger and long lasting

Cheers Scotty, I'm reading that thread now..

Ayup macaws,
I'll have to ask my brother (he's a contracts service engineer for whirlpool, formerly phillips) if the inners are Stainless or not...doubt they're food grade/fishy grade tho.. :(

Suppose it all depends if you're a steel or glass kind of bloke...

Neil 316 stainless is the easiest to work and I haven't seen so much as a rust spot on it. Just a matter of finding a good one.

Kärcher pressure wash got it clean as a whistle. SS isn't what you call permeable so as long as you get the nooks and crannies You really don't need to worry much. Soap is very soluble and washes out with no trouble.
