Hi Folks

RE : Tanks.

Yes the tanks will always be in use, the great thing about haveing a few babies growing on is that whilst I get a buzz, Anne ( she who must be obeyed  ) would like it too.

Whilst I know Bob and a few others enjoying actually growing on from fry, my intention is to get hopefully, good quality babies, say 10 - 15 cm and see how they progress.

Kind of back to Bobs theory of Tatagoi and Tateshita.

Having seen Bobs set up ( which is great I might add ), I think I will try the easier way first.

The Q T / Sick Bay will always be running, as there always seems to be the odd one that gets a knock.

Can't take all the credit for building the house, whilst I am out there mucking in, have had a bit of help ( joys of having a plumbing company :) ).

Should really think of getting a chippy company. :!:

Regards

Andy

Hi Andy,

I believe that you can get some "normal" type strip lights with UV bulbs and i believe that the KWB have a halogen light over their tower which has the balls in.well i think it did when i was down there last year

All going well and as normal not bad for a plumber

Andy i am not 100% sure but i think the UV light is best so maybe a electrical wholesalers may be best first. The thing is you may need to place it above and have some kind of screen to protect the UV light and the splashing water.

Still i know you plumbers know all about electrics and water

Hi Mikey

Part P !!! sparky's have got it easy.

When renewing my C.O.R.G.I registration last March, chap say's to me " do you carryout any electrical works, when fitting boilers etc "

Yes

"Then you will have to prove your competence" , so I had to pay £175.00 for the privilege of doing something that I have done for 26 years, then I had to pay another £200 for a sparks to come round and test me.

When round my office, this chap says don't worry you only need 80% to pass ( with C.O.R.G.I you need to achieve 100% or your out !!! )

At the end of the test this chaps declares ummmmmm you got 92% is that OK I asked. Ohh yes we normally help you Gas guys through :?

So I can't work without it, and any Tom, Dick or Harry can get it.

Keep to Koi much easier

Yours somewhat disgruntled

Hi Andy,

Got it easy depends what you call easy :D :D

You are 100% bang on how comes any Tom,Dick & Harry can get by because the system is too relaxed so they give it to anyone.Unfortunately i have come across and seen some of what gets done when the new gang of part p guys start.

So did you have to carry out the testing of the installation for him including filling out the forms and what ones did you do????

This is by no means having a pop at you but some guys who i know have got this and they haven't got a clue!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Gazza

Firstly, I don't consider you, to being having a pop, the thing that draws me to Koi forums, is the people can be opinionated, and as so long as its polite and not personal, then that’s how I believe it should be.

If members get a bit hot under the collar, then individuals can always use the PM facility and meet in the playground for fisty cuffs :D :D

The sparky's have it easy comment, was with regards to my assessor stating that gas engineers - plumbers only needed a 80% pass rate, for part P, Whilst when we sit our C.O.R.G.I every 5 years they demand 100% :?

Hence Lucky sparky's, always make the most mess on site, always get the clean cup when the teas dished out, and come to think of it, always seem to go early, and the sparks I use demand £225 per day :(

The test I done was just a multiple choice question and answers.

This test means I can work on single circuits only !!, can wire a system, with say 3 Keston Boilers all linked with relays, 6 zones, digistats etc, etc etc, but don't go near that consumer unit, it might bite !! :D :D

Apparently before next December I will need to sit a Part P exam, I think this is to level B, ( you will know more about this than me ).

Anyway have got outside lights so back to cladding my Koi House.

Only popped in for a fag and a cuppa :)

Regards
