It must be that time of year!

Post by Davej »

One of mine spawned this morning, no great surprise really as I moved her outside into the main pond on Saturday; will post some pics later. Been chasing around all day setting the reception tank etc. Bit of a shame really as I intended to manage the spawning a little later in the year but did throw some brushes in last night as there were signs of activity! Good excuse for an extended holiday! :D

Quick question; Duncan recommends a prophylactic treatment of eggs with Malachite on day2 at “a higher concentration than is normal for therapeutic fish treatments.” In previous years I haven’t treated but has any one any ideas what dose would be suitable?

Regards to all

you must treat the eggs some will be infertile and these will get infected with fungus this will also host all kinds of preditory microbe insect life whichj will spread to the healthy eggs

Who knows?

I had wanted to try and pair her (Goromo) with selected partners.

First few have not started to hatch, :D can't really tell at 3mm!

What is clear is that my Chagois are either female or Gay.

As long as Ki Utsuri does not burst in the next few weeks may try and pair her up.
