Midsummer madness

Post by Davej »

After a couple of weeks off I was due to be at work early today..

My Shiro had other plans... Best bit was when the wife came down to have a peak before heading off to work and got a good drenching with water and good knows what!.

Fortunately I set up a reception tank last night, pond had just hit 21 degrees which seemed to be the magic number last year.

All finished by 10 o'clock now doing the clearing up. Couple of good ropes of eggs so we will see what happens.

Shiro got badly beaten up at spawning last year but initial signs this time are not too bad but fingers crossed.

Work can wait for another day I guess..

Brine shrimp hatching underway.

Several others are simply bursting with eggs so I expect some more fun and games in the next week or so...

If anyone local (South essex) wants any eggs or baby fry over the next few weeks drop me a note.
