Spawning Rope

Post by StuW »

Hi guys, a friend of mine wants to have a go at flock spawning the koi in his pond but was wondering if any of you guys have any suggestions as to what he could use as a cheaper alternative to spawning ropes which will work as well or only slightly worse. Cheers

I guess filter brushes would work.

I don't know about filter brushes. I would find these a bit too hard and they might damage spawning fish!

Hi Stuart,

I used to breed golf fish many years ago and all I used then was a length of nylon rope. Just open it all up and seperate the strands and for little outlay you have a mass of great stuff for spawning. The great thing is you can make as much or as little as you need.

Good luck, Dean.
