Concrete press will not work purely down to good old fashioned gravity, whats so hard about building a brickwork skin around the pond
Another alternative would be to hire the skills of a good plasterer and have him render it and then cut a pattern into render.

I am a great believer in if things look to good to be true, they usually are. Dont think it matters which of the stockist of BHM You buy from it will always be £140 a box.

At this time of year I think its just the skimmer doing its job. You can change to a sieve but I would say that will not last all week at this time of year and will also need to be cleaned daily. The other problem You will then face is converting Your skimmer from pump fed to gravity fed, ie: bigger...

I have fitted a few now on a skimmer line with no sieve in front, as long as You have a basket in the skimmer you will be fine.

HI Max do not seal that slate, G4 will not adhere to it and will peal off over time, as Ed has said slate is about as tuff as it gets, to be honest I wouldnt even bother with the bed joints.

Could YOu not put a vat up, move water and Koi, seems like You are going to do the work and it may or may not work ok, You wont be happy with it. Bite the bullet do it properly.
