Hi Guy/Gordon, The diagrams look good, cant see a problem, though i very much doubt you will be able to return the uplifted water below the surface, the push from the pond will counter the flow. Guy, im pulling 4000gph through one of my nexus fed via a 3" side feed.. I would go with 2&q...

No problem Guy, A small/medium sized vortex after the nexus should do fine, you may even get away with puting them in the 'D' exit of the nexus? The water changed in my streamflow pond works out at around 10-15% per week, average i would think for any pond. I do change more in the summer...ha....mon...

Some info here which may help.....http://home.netcom.com/~larry_l/air_lifts.htm Guy, to move the water back into the pond from the filters would be simply enough, you would need to place X amount of uplift pipes in the filters (X being determined by the flow required) above the water leve...

Hi Diego, The pond is running like a dream, its been online for just over a year now. I have made a couple of mods to it which are detailed here...http://www.koiquest.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4945 These mods where done for a couple of reasons, mainly to improve the pond turnover. The p...

Your right Gerry, Mike has never cleaned the showers in the 4+ years they have been running, as for the "green" water Gazza there is a sound reason for this, although i would call it murky.... The reason behind this is to keep the lustre of the koi, a-la mudponds. If the light cannot...

As far as i can remember, a 300w aquarium heater is only rated for around 60 gallons, i have used 2 of theses before though on around 250 gallons, they will work but will not heat to anymore than than 16 or 17c even set at the max. You should be ok as long as the temps dont drop too much at night. I...

I have an hour clock connected to my boiler, it has run for the same amount of hours as it always has regaurdless of the shower give or take a few, this year was milder though. I think most bakki installations are indoors, mine is almost indoors but not fully. During the winter i shield the back and...

Hi Bob, the pond is 5800g, A previous mod which was done involved pulling direct from 2 of the uplift pipes over the shower, this was done to aid the flow along the bottom of the pond and improve the pond turnover. The system as is now pulls direct from 2 uplifts, the other 4 still go to waste on th...

Hi Daniel, I have added another 3 tier set and upped the pond turnover, the showers now have around 10,000 gph (pump sizes not actual) going over them, the pond turns around 13,000 gph over now. I had to dismantle the original set to fit the new set in front, and make a new front wier plate. [img]ht...

Hi Tel, I made a few mods the other week which involved stripping the shower down to add another, the pic below is of the BHM out of the top tier which has been running for around 10 months now, i was suprised how clean it was and how nice and composty it smelt.... [img]http://i46.photobucket....

Hi, If im not mistaken this is the way EA describe the cleaning process of the nexus. Once the centre static chamber has been dumped the next step is to pull the isolation pipe, thus back flushing it....? I feel the need to say my 2p's worth here, although i do not use R.O. I am fortunate enough to have what i consider a good water supply. For the record, these results do vary according to the seasons hence the difference in readings, ph 7.4 - 7.7, kh 1 -2, gh 4, tds 70 - 110, orp 330-370. The pond c...
