Re: QT

Hi Justin, Bob did work hard on it-not a big job in terms of size but lots of tricky little bits-Bob did say he likes a challenge :D I worked out how long the uplifts would be then tested them in my qt with 20 ltrs of air and found that four 1 1 /2 inch uplifts would give me the required turn over. ...

Re: QT

Hi Gazza, The filters will actually be inside the filter house for the pond, the front of the main pond wall will wrap around between the Qt and the filter-hard to explain. The qt it self is split into two but still connected by bottom drains. The qt tank will have the polycarb sitting on the ridge,...

Theres a few odds and ends from my old pond that will hopefully all be gone in the next week so i can thin out the growing on pond. Re: Air Up Lifts

Hi All, I had a play around at the weekend. I tried 1 1/2inch pipe and found a great improvement. I tested a secoh 40 as well and again found improvement, however i was unable to get anywhere nead the output quoted in that article from the secoh 40. Ive ordered some larger air line as the 6mm is obv...

Re: Air Up Lifts

Hi Diego, Excellent post-just read the translation-fantastic 40,000lph from 41 watts! I only managed 12000lph from a 70 litre pump and was impressed but that is unreal! Am i right in thinking that the test was conducted without air stones? The translation wasn't that clear? Also have you got any ide...

Re: Air Up Lifts

Hi Jane, Thanks for that-ive actually got a couple of broken manifolds lying around-i didnt realise the taps unscrew! :D Am i right in thinking you have 14 uplift pipes running off of one 80 litre pump? Any idea how much water you are turning over? Ive yet to try 1 1/2inch pipes, i suspect this will...

Re: Air Up Lifts

Hi Jane, Yes you have certainly converted me! The pond im building was going to run : 3x aquamax 1200 @ 200 watts each 2x Air pumps 70ltr @35 watts each Total of 670 watts I could run the same system using uplifts: 5xAir pumps 70 ltr @35 watts each Total of 175 watts So i can achieve the same turnov...

Air Up Lifts

Hi, I haven't been about much lately as busy at work etc. Was having a catch up on the forum last week and came accross Janes pond build using air uplifts, and then came accross Bobs post about the cost of bills etc, which got me thinking-Emma would kill me if we got a bill like that!. Well had toda...

Re: Help with compact sieve

Hi All, Still no joy with this one! Sieve clogs within 8 hours regardless. Ive cut food down from 8 feeds a day to 2 feeds, the sieve is hardly picking anything up now but simple clogs with a fine layer all along the sieve-it almost works better with more waste! I gave it a real good clean with caus...

Re: Help with compact sieve

Hi Chris, The water clarity is really good at the moment-you cant see any bits floating around atall. Can i ask what food you are feeding? The waste on your screen looks almost dusty as opposed to the gunk im getting! What is that screen like-ive got one that i meant for a diy project on a rainy day!...

Re: Help with compact sieve

Hi Bob, I gave it a good clean with lime and pressure washed. Also slipped it in the dishwasher on a hot wash when Em was out. Where would i get caustic soda from-will be worth ago! Would love for it to work as the sieve is doing a cracking job apart from the length of time between cleaning! Cheers ...
