Re: The Cetus sieve
Thanks Jon, I agree that the costs are doubled, which is not a good thing, but like you I think maintenance will be easier and therefore the water quaility should improve (crud removed from water). I have no real choice with filter position, the ponds been in for years. I'm actually thinking of Cetu...

The Cetus sieve
Hi,
Anyone tried this yet? I'm thinking of getting one but would like people's thoughts, experiences if possible. It would seem a good solution for removing waste. Is there a down side?

Re: What do you think of this?
I have to extend my filtration anyway and am thinking of trying at least the first part of Waddy's filter. I like the idea of a small (125 litres) 1st bay with brushes that I can "dump" every day. This must surely keep the pond cleaner.

Re: Advice on pond heating
It's true that they "defrost" from time to time but it only takes about 2 mins and is normally no more than once per hour if air temp. is low (1°C or lower), not at all at 6 or 7°C. I can only take my experience from my house system (just starting the 3rd winter), I had one day last winter...

Re: Advice on pond heating
Hi Dave If you have efficiency tables from a manufacturer that shows a positive benefit at low air temps then please share them. Which air /air pump are you looking at for your pond? What make of pump do you run for your house system? Is this the only heating you run, 365 days a year? Must say that...

Re: Advice on pond heating
I currently heat the house with an Air/Air heat pump and it's saving me £800 a year. I have plans to heat my 41 tonnes pond with one but am still saving as they're about £2700's and the wife's watching......
