Re: Concrete blocks

Swings and roundabouts with costs. asthetics are also another isse. I prefer a nice facing brick but alot of people want the cheaper option of blocks and render. @ skins with a 1 inch back fill of compo as you work has never failed me so far! Also by the time you render the pool and wait for weather...

Re: Concrete blocks

Chris 2 ways of doing it and I am sure Justin will back me up. You can lay them on their sides and create a wall like that or stand them up allow a 1 inch gap and have another external course the backfill the gap as you go. Both ways are secure and both ways will probably take a similar amount of ti...

Re: Bead filters.

Hi Martin. I run 2 x Aquadyne 8.8's and 1 x 4.4 All these are fed through 6 sieves, 2 sieves for each system and the maintenance is once every 6 weeks. When I backwash the bead I do it twice for about 20 mins each time to get a thorugh clean. Rappy is correct about the pump scenario you need somethi...

Re: Cetus sieve

I think you will find the system you speak off is designed for the swimming pool market but can be adapted to be used for your koi pnd and is no different in set up but probably cheaper in cost as the swimming pool units are made of a different plastic. The second pump is designed to balance the sys...

Re: Nexus 300 probs

Martin a quick and easy way to check the moulding between the inner and outer chambers is to place the centre pipe in the Eazy and allow to fill. Emty all the water and K1 from the outer chamber and then take the pipe out of the centre pipe. The water should transfer into the outer chamber evenly al...

Re: Flap weirs or collar weirs

Martin I only ever fit flap weir as they are more efficent than the collar weir as the point of "suction" is on the face of the pool so all the dust/leaves and other debris has a stronger pull to get them into the basket. They are a zero maintainence system but like all skimmers you have t...

Re: Nexus 300 probs

Martin as I recall there is a gap under you rlid 2 fingers width approx 40mm. A rough and ready calculation but one I have never had any problems with before. I have seen situations in the past where a normal plastic lid has flexed and completley covered the inlet due to the draw on the bottom drain...
