Re: new quarantine build
To be honest I wouldnt run a bead and shower on the same system. I think You would get much better results with just the shower, with the full flow of Your pump over it. I run the same shower as you have purchased with 2000 gallons an hour going over it. My growing pond is 1700 gallons I have a bott...

Re: media for shower
Echo Gazza, You can get away with other media but that works better in a trickle tower situation. There is only one media to have in a shower BHM. Two box`s on a small system in a homemade shower, will work a treat as long as You have the correct flow going over it. It will be the best £280 You ever...

Re: POnd Upgrade
Ok is this pond above ground or completely sunken, as the answer will give You different options. I would say digging the pond out is a reasonably easy task. Then a bottom drain can be fitted Pipe work can just be tunneled under neath existing wall. By digging down on the outside of the pond with a ...

Re: What do you think of this?
got bored after about three lines. Save Your pennies and buy a Bakki Shower, in My experience they are about the best filtration around, and work in perfect harmony with a Nexus or pod.

Re: filtration
Two pods will not cope with that size pond, on there own. Pods are great mechanical filtration, but as sole mechanical and biological I would have to hang a question mark over them. AS Brian says running along side a Nexus 200 on the size of pond You have, you will have a great little setup. For You...

Re: Quarantine/Growing On Tank Inside Or Out
HI Taggy if it were Me I would have it in the shed. I am sure in or out it would work great, but for Me I love to go down My shed, switch the light on and stand in the warm and dry and feed My Koi on these long cold dark nights. The other plus side of this , You have somewhere to hide from the wife,...

Re: Building a pond
Am sure in the current financial climate you can find builders who will do it for less and there are always corners that can be cut and stuff you can do yourself that will affect the final figure. Martin[/quote] Are builders no longer aloud to earn a living  If a jobs worth doing its worth pay...

Re: Rounded Pond Walls
Yes You can lay the vertical but You will still be using blocks that are 440mm long, If You are trying to get round a really tight turn when You lay the course over the top they will over hang and hatch and grin makeing the render a little more of a task. When I built Glen & Annettes pond, on so...
