Dunc, it's more of a feel of hard rubber-ish.
pm me with some dates (of your availability) and times and I'll drive over ... or I can wait till the wet lab. I was planning on adding my name, but didn't want to, until I knew the dates as I am not always here.

Re: any ideas
Gazza, there is something protruding in the mouth and yes the lump is a bit reddish on the outside ... somehow it feels like a growth, boil or something. It is fairly hard under the skin, but I'm hoping you guys can help - cause I don't know :? . After Dunc looks at this, I may persuade him to do so...

Re: Tancho
Check with Mark and Lisa at cuttlebrook, they usually have a few - they won't be show winners (No dealer sells their best koi at such a small size) but might be exactly what you are looking for. You do realise that not all tancho come out with round spots.... and those that do will cost you quite a ...

Ed, I honestly can't remember it being there before ... she's about 60 cm and it sort of has the shape of a wish bone.
ps... by the way, she eats like a pig and last year she spawned twice but she doesn't appear as laden with eggs this year as she did last.

It'd be interesting to see if this works as you expect Dunc ... also, a system filtered by moving media wouldn't conform to this theory, would it?

Re: Dam flukes
Mark, you beat me to it ... I'm a huge fan of telmin, aside from the fact that a single packet is the right amount for my setup, the 'slack' in the dosage rates actually make it really easy to use and has been my weapon of choice when dealing with flukes.

Re: Understanding "Aeromonas Alley"
Well, my experience is a little different .... for the last two years (09-10) I've not heated between November and March, I've also not fed between November and March. I let the pond temps fall to wherever the ambient temperatures takes it. I do however, carry-on doing water changes (minimum 10%) an...
