I like it Bob. Because I have pushed my luck with the pond size and I am up against the boundary I have little room for anything. The only thing I have is the kids play shed at the back but it isn't very big and is above the pond so will increase the head I have to go to. It is currently full of kids toys though. ...

Brilliant thread John, I applaud your ingenuity. I think you should go for the water butt (or bin / boxes) on the end of your pressure fed filter.
