Hi, I have also tried lower wattage pumps on both my aquadynes and they just dont seem to be up to it :? I reckon you will be ok mate, im sure that you can line the whole inside of the bottom drain with grp, making sure that all surfaces are keyed up right so the fibre glass bonds correctly to the pipework.
