Yeah.Don't you just love math. :D I look at it this way. 8500Start is 8100 lph divided by 110 watts = 72.6 litres per hour per watt. Eco is 8000 lph divided by 80 watts = 100 litres per hour per watt. I guess that's why it's called an Eco. As to the lost 100 lph. It's not a lot. It's only 1.25% ...

For me that's a no brainer.

30 watts for an extra 100 lph ?

Considering one of these will happily run for 10 years that's a lot of electrickery you'd save for virtually the same flow.

The way I see it, it depends on the size of fish you are keeping. I can point you at a 4ft plus (4 or 5 inches),100lb plus, chagoi being kept in a 5ft deep show pond that has lost its previous perfect body confirmation because it can't swim downwards.A perfect depth for that fish is a lot different ...

It's worth checking your source water regularly. All water companies in Britain are abstracting an increasing amount of water from rivers, rather than underground aquifers, meaning the water is softer than it can be/has been.

Really nice job Bob. I've done some glassing (speedboats) and recognise the amount of work that's gone in here.I'd like something similar but no way am I considering glassing them up myself, let alone making moulds. For all those clamouring for a similar set up,and I am not in any way connected to th...
