Well the good news is that both spawnings have hatched, the Showa spawning looks like they are a very good size for the age along with a good hatch rate. Will try and take a few photo's as they progress through the year this time and keep everyone updated, I must admit I was so rushed last year that I never got round to it, fingers crossed I get a bit more time this year. The Showa set produced some stunning Showa and Shiro Utsuri's last year. These ...

Spawning Time

Spawning time has come around again, so the mud ponds have been filling up an are now all ready for this years breeding to commence. I open a packet last year, which I kept in the fridge in an airtight container and it worked ok this year.

I would say all koi bred in the country can be called English bred, but you could also call them pure Japanese, Japanese bred if both parents where from Japan.
