Well the good news is that both spawnings have hatched, the Showa spawning looks like they are a very good size for the age along with a good hatch rate. Spawning time has come around again, so the mud ponds have been filling up an are now all ready for this years breeding to commence. I open a packet last year, which I kept in the fridge in an airtight container and it worked ok this year.

I would say all koi bred in the country can be called English bred, but you could also call them pure Japanese, Japanese bred if both parents where from Japan.
