Re: Using a microscope
I hope no-one minds me bringing this post back up but can anyone suggest how best to clean a microscope. I lent it out and it has come back and all the lens are filthy, I have tried a couple of things but all they seem to do is leave things on the lens.

Re: Just in time!
Hi James My first thought about the sturgeon is that they are known to jump out of ponds, or it could of been after a bit of food and got stuck and couldn't get back in, my mum had 2 sturgeon that managed to get out and ended up in the middle of the garden. Well done for sticking with it and bringin...

Re: Strange Health Situation
Hi I don't know if this may help but do have a close neighbours to the pond, if yes, they could be spraying something that is being carried by a breeze which is getting into the water, also is your pond at ground level and maybe you have used a something. On what you are discribing it does sound ver...

Re: HEAT BOX as suggested to me by Bob Hart
Hi Justin
Well my little box managed 1 degree increase not alot by any means but an increase, the other thing I noticed was the pond held it's heat for a lot longer. So the bigger newer version is being designed just a few things to got and I should be able to set it.

Re: HEAT BOX as suggested to me by Bob Hart
Hi Justin I love the sound of your set up and the heat you are getting is great, I have the problem of not being able to get on a roof so when Bob suggest this it sounded like a great idea. The one I made yesterday is just to see how much heat I can get, It was to small to be effective but as soon a...

Re: HEAT BOX as suggested to me by Bob Hart
Hi Bob I thought exactly the same, it didn't go in until after 1pm today so I will do readings every hour tomorrow (as long as the sun shines) this will give a better idea of how things are going and if any adjustment are needed. I know it is only small but I thought I would give it a try first and ...

HEAT BOX as suggested to me by Bob Hart
Hi All This is the first post on this subject so there are no results yet so I hope you can bare with me. While Bob was building my pond he talked about a heat box, where you wind a small bore pipe round and round and run a small watt pump so the flow is very slow. The idea sat with me for a while a...

Re: Interbreeding Carp
Carp spawning near the top of a pond, as keepers we would use spawning brushes but if the have nothing else around the carp with use vegatatian. Carp like to look for food on the bottom and they dig around looking all the time for food so this is what will disturb the bottom and gravel. You could tr...

Re: Made my own Paste Food
Hi Greg I have thought for a while about trying to make something like this but not to sure about what to put in it, so I am sorry but I have a few question's 1) What made you use Haddock and why 2) Why have you still used wheatgerm as a basis 3) I take it that you feel this is ok to freeze, how lon...

Re: LOYALTY OR NOT
Hi Greg Thank you for your reply. Where I have to move back to there are no good dealers, believe me I have tried to find them. Maybe I am going in the wrong direction  But I know a couple of dealers that I do know will ship their Koi, so I think that will be my decision, I am virtually guarant...

Re: PP And The Home Office
Hi Duncan I must admit I am shocked at the amount of people using PP on a regular basis without the proper knowledge or equiptment to do so. People new to the hobby being advised to PP the pond, it a bad mispractice and now leads to others suffering who do know how to use it properly having to re-th...

Re: LOYALTY OR NOT
Hi Guy's Please believe me when I asked this question it was not for gossip but honest answers. I have been very lucky with a Koi Dealership that happened to be the first Koi Dealer I ever knew exsisted (when I first started keeping koi) I was a little upset the other week because I have been going ...
