I have to agree you have done a good job there probably the most difficult place to treat dermo,I have treated it on the gill plate much easier to do.

Hi I can remember a few years ago Duncan telling me no matter how good someone is at treating Koi if the koi has lost the will to live regardless of what we do it wont survive.

I cant think of a better way to describe this so bear with me is it like a fulcrum when one end is open the other is shut sort of like a beam engine working on a central pivot,I bet I am miles off track now

Does this bone flex or move to keep the gill covers held tight to the body and as the other bones etc move it allows them to open but then flexes back to its original position to close the gill cover tight again.Probably got it arse about face

Hi Greg I would scrape three more koi to get a better idea of what is going on in the pond,also from the symptoms you describe it sounds like Costia.

This is very thought provoking I have been a fisherman for many years (not so much in the last 4 years)when trout fishing I use a priest not had any come round again,when I euthanize a Koi I use phenoxytol I leave it in there over night and give it a visit from the priest in the morning just to make...

Hi Gazza the first thing I do is test my water it never really alters but better to know it is right.I turn off my protein skimmer but that is about it I turn it on later so some meds run through but I don't want it removing any treatment before it has done it's job.

Hi I have got a koi with this and have treated it three times very aggressively as described in Dunc's book but it has always returned,I have had the koi for five years and it has had this for four years no other koi have contracted it yet
