hi mike, probably the two best forms of filtration you can get , certainly the most modern with the nexus .....my only concern is the gallonage you have concerning two nexus 300s...without the showers i think they may struggle , the showers should be prefiltered and bhm would be the choice of most a...

andy ....use 1.5 pipe it will give a better flow rate , secondly dont use stones or buy rings ...make em ...go to the plumbers merchant get some speed fit pipe in 1\2 inch .one tee in speed fit ...drill holes of about one and a half mill to two mill. in size every inch and a half along pipe , and af...

hi stu , well i think there are a few probs obviously at large here , firstly the pump your using the 5500 delivers around about 800\900 gph at a meter head , so at best your turning the water only over once every 4 to 4 1\2 hrs , far to slowly in my opinion , secondly what your getting clarity wise...

andy if you could get it to stay there it would , but there are purpose made diffuser rings which will clip onto the bottom drain lid to answer sues original question ......if brother jules aint got em ...then the ace of koi catalogue has i believe ......the one that came free with koi mag a couple ...

ok andy, firstly the first bay is acting as a vortex to spin the particulates in a circle thus dropping them to the base of said vortex ready to be flushed away , the second bay with brushes is the next stage of the mechanical this traps all the mulm and bits that get through , the third bay is japa...

well firstly andy there should not be any crap in the final bay anyway , if there is then the mechanical side of the filter aint workin....on your cl2 you have the four bays ...can you tell us whats in each in rotation so we can help you more on this :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

simply to drive the crud via the column the air flow creates like a fountain to the drain andy ...anybody got a piccy or drawing to help out here :?: :?:

mortality rates are unpredictable imho due to so many different factors , obviously water parameters,the actual strength of the individual fish etc etc as for feed you could try daphnia ... :wink: :wink:
