Hi
I used 50mm clout nails from wickes (the large head ones) no problems as going into 9x9x18 block walls. Used the silver tape as described to cover joints.

Re: Electrical question
Hi Jon If it helps I run my 3kW heater on a seperate 2.5mm armoured cable wired directly to consumer unit on a 16A RCD protected MCB. 3kW heater @ 240 V is very nearly pulling 13 A and @230V is slightly over. I say this as some 3KW heater manufacturers say they can be run on a 13A plug (usually melt...

Re: Problems with my heater
Hi Pondy I have used a profi 3kW for the last 2 years with no problems, other than as many others have commented the stat setting is variable (can be as much as 5 degrees out). I was aware of this before I bought mine so purchased the Filtertech controller to switch it. This has a built in relay whi...

Re: Which Kingspan for insulation?
Hi Jon External corners can be rounded by stanley knifing the foil off about 1" width and then use P80 sandpaper to round the corner. It sands really easy and makes a smooth finish (see attached picture of bevel sanded for bottom drain). If you can hit the clout nail square it will go into bree...

Re: Which Kingspan for insulation?
Thanks Tic Toc Shallow end was original pond of 500 gals, but as usual decided it wasn't big enough. So out came one of the longest walls and extension was another 9 feet in length and just over 4 foot in depth. Heated by 3kw heater, but not as cheap as you might think (last winter Nov-April about£ ...

Hi
If this helps I used the Extratherm 25mm with foil on both sides and didn't remove it, Dave A then glassed it no problems. I used the large headed 50mm clout nails to fix to blockwork, 3 years later everything is A OK.

Re: WHAT PUMP SIZE FOR TT ?
Hi Mio I did have my TT for sale in the forum For Sale section but no one (local) seemed interested. I didn't realize before I removed it how much difference it made. I had recently increased my bio capacity which is why I decided to sell it. I had kept the media submerged when I advertised it, but ...

Thanks for the kind words. In reply to Darren, if you look at previous photo 66 you can see in the left hand corner an underwater return from skimmer. The skimmer returns via trickle tower on pond wall (see below top right, but can be diverted below if needed. Both provide anti clockwise flow as doe...

Hi Louie I hope I am wrong for your electric bills sake, but most aquarium heaters can be set no lower than 16 degrees and I fear that as 900 watts is not enough for 2000 gallons they will be on 24/7. An equilavent 3KW heater would use roughly the same amount of electric if on for just over 7 hrs in...

Hi all If it helps anyone my quarterly electric usage was as below for the period 13/08/07 to 7/11/07 (87 days). At this time my pond temp was still above the 12 degress that my heater was set at. Day units used 1381 = £111.29 Night units used 588 = £21.13 My pond is 2200 gallons and the heate...

Hi
Kit comes complete with calibration sachets to make up fluid. This is the link to their website http://www.monitors-direct.co.uk/ProductDet ... uctID=1159
I ordered mine from their e-bay shop as the monitor and postage was cheaper.
Regards
Shaun
