Nice neat job you have done there, it looks great ! Reclaimed bricks do look the mutts

Is that hozelock pipe on your return to the pond ? if so, it may be better to change it for food grade hose as this will prevent nitrite leeching into the pond.

Activated charcoal is a fine power has a large carbon content so the bits left over from your bbq wont be much good   I would imagine the inlet at the top and outlet at the bottom. The is a company in Sompting that sells activiated carbon, I tihnk there called blue shark marine systems.

If any one is in doubt about a bottom drain, have a look at this from you tube. They used pvc flakes instead of fish poo and the pump is a 45lpm Hakko :?

I was thinking of aerating the japmat and flushing weekly, but it seems that a filter full of K1 is favourite 8)

Filter change

I am currently running a CL3 and all my perameters are spot on - the water clarity is good but I want to get rid of the fines to be 100% clear.

At the moment I have:
Vortex
Brushes
JapMat
Alfagrog

Would I be better putting K1 in chamber 3 and japmat in chamber 4 or just put K1 in chamber 4 ?
