Which Pumps

Hello all, Have not been on for a while but need to see if anyone has experience of the following pumps. I intend to purchase 2 pumps tomorrow in an effort to get the pond running before the winter sets in. I have a choice between Sequence and Perfect Pumps. Both are suppled by EA. Perfect pumps are...

Re: Electric shocks.

Pump was switched off aroun an hour ago with as much water in the pod as it will naturally hold. Just hope the K1 will not suffer to much without waterflow for 24 hours.

Re: Electric shocks.

I know, but the water must flow between the tank ant the pod / return must make a circuit so why am I getting a belt in the pod but not the main tank where the pump is located?

Got a sore arm now after around six little shocks.

Electric shocks.

Any advice would be wellcome as I may need to replace a pump in the morning. In my lagest Shoreham tank I run two submersible pumps. One to keep the original pipework clear of static water and a second larger pump which feeds an eazypod. When cleaning the pod tonight I thought I was resting on a ner...

Re: oxygen

I get my O2 from BOC, they do many different sizes. I have a three foot pencil bottle which has lasted me just over two years. It was at around 240 bar when collected and is currently at about 70ish. As for filling 240 bags I would say only small bags. Mine has done around 100 of mixed size and will...

Re: Filtration advice please

Hi e4sby, As Gazza has said if you have the space the Nexus is a great piece of kit to just connect up and play. With two bottom drains and a skimmer you are looking at running at least 3 pumps. I personally would not bother with a sieve in front of the Nexus as the Eazy within the nexus should do a...

Re: Koi-Pond RE-VAMP ????

Hi Mio, Well done you for having a go yourself. When it comes to the mortar mix it needs to be fairly loose ie a bit wet (but not to sloppy). If you try to lay on a mix that has lost its moisture you will never be able to tamp the blocks down. Also before laying the block on the mortar it is best to...

Skimmers. Pump or gravity.

After a visit to a reputable local dealer yesterday I came away wondering whether his advice was correct or not. The advice was that a skimmer will only work if the pump was between the skimmer and the filter as a gravity feed would not pull down the flap in the skimmes throat therefore not pulling ...

Re: static k1 filter help

As Bob mentioned you cant go wrong by looking at what EA use in their Nexus range. In the static section the 200 uses 30Lts of K1 whilst the 300 uses 45Lts. The smaller Eazypod also uses only 30 Lts. Therefore I would say that you dont need more than is used be EA as both the 200 and 300 can filter ...

Re: A Question for you Sparkies!

Hi Bob, Not been on to much lately so only just read your thread. Here's an option which should not cost you to much at all. In the past I have used a central heating timer to control a lighting circuit whilst away on holiday. You should be able to control more than one period of time without power ...

Re: Pond build update

Looking good Jane. I got to about where you are 18 month ago and has not moved since.

You'll soon have it up and running, just keep plugging away at it.

Looks around 14 x 7 to me, how deep will you be when finished.

Dean.

Very cool Gerry, An idea for you in regards to weight if needed. You could make a ring by using large air hose and a straight conector. It comes in 25mm or 31mm. Fill it with sand and bond it to the under side of the dome, assuming their is space in there to do it and that it would not interfere wit...

Hi Bob, Looking good over there. Another option could be Fibreglass. One of my dad's cousins was looking into importing Fibreglass joists from China to span longer distances. Apparently they are as strong as steel with a fraction of the weight. If you boxed it in you would never know the difference....

I'm with Dave. The major flaw with the pod is the waste exit. I clean mine twice a week and its more than a quick flush. I find I need to agitate the k1 at least three times to feel that it is clean enough. I also have to assist with removal of the waste form the other side of the waste hump. I use ...
