hi dave i was trying to say that if you just get a price without asking questions of what you get not saying that you get a crap job with one layer like you say it all depends on who did it
ps how did you get on with the diy job in scotland ????

mine was done with 2 x450 grm then tissue i compared quotes on like for like not sq/m seen some done with less than mine and it looks bad you pays your money and takes your choice

can you get a radial tank connector in it then sandwich either side with stainless screws just an idea

try www.pjglassfibre.com not far away will give you a quote my advise is always get a quote based on like for like eg what gram matt , how many etc i had different quotes and until i asked the questions above and then found out why different prices

you say that this is excessive depends on what you are using what gram matt etc are you getting 450 or 300 some then use a tissue then the top coat i priced mine to do it myself but you have hidden extras buckets, rollers , acetone , cat, etc etc it all adds up if you get it wrong you then pay again...
