Re: Russ's New Pond
Hi Russ That's interesting so your going 4 blocks high laid upright with an outer skin of brick, anything in between ? If it fibreglassed that will increase the strength , just asking as my neighbour just asked the best way to build above ground and I thought to be safe 9" hollows or lay blocks...

Hi Scott
Just found this tread missed it before, an interesting project looks great, I love the gate and sliding shutter set of by the perfect circle , and the scales are real nice, might try something like that for my new fish house .

Re: Pond Cover Problems
As Cris said good old duck tap. but the main job of a cover IMO is to cut out that nasty ice cold wind that just sucks the temp. out of you water. Unless you are heating then I can see you don't want to be heating rain water if we get a wet winter, but then again if it is a wet one perhaps it won't ...

Re: Raise the DO what do you think?
Hi Gaz Not to bad mate thanks hope your are good , I do not have a problem with DO bud ,it was just a question really to see what people thought, I was thinking I might hide a couple of these in my veg bed or water fall just to give a misting effect when we have garden parties and open days, but the...

Or am I way off the mark again??? gassing off chlorine yes it will do this and absorb oxygen, this is gas exchange, but whether it could be a bi...

Re: Raise the DO what do you think?
If I was worried about the amount of oxygen in my pond I think I'd be more inclined to drop in a 9" disc and throw 60-70 lph of air through it on top of the 60lph supplied by the aerated bd. As a temporary measure in extremely hot conditions it would certainly do the trick, and when the hot sp...
