Hi Arthur, New pond sounds interesting mate :D You can run that size pond off one drain but it depends on how your having your filtration and what turnover you want. Are you running just two showers and is there any mechanical filtration :?: I take it you want to run the showers and then pipe them ...

hi all hope to start a new pond friday, just a couple of things do i need more than one bottom drain on 5500 gallons?
the other thing is would it be best to feed two three tier bakki's of one four inch pipe through the pond wall or two x two inch? thanks for any help i want to order stuff tommorow.

gazza shove it on proply don't worry about the fish knocking themselves i chuck the food under the shower they seem to feed better just under the water, don't bother with the pipe on the wier tryed that it makes the water track under the shower.you'll love it when it's working so will the fish.

gazza i just wrap it in plenty of bubble wrap in the winter and just one layer in the summer just to stop the splashing.

gazza i have a 16000 aquamax pump of my skimmer and a (not the best idea i know) 16000 aquamax pump in the pond all going over my shower works well .

lee i do but i have a slide valve that shuts the spray bar of and diverts the flow through a return in the pond, i find this way if i want to heat ramp i can go up 2deg an hour over the shower it's about 11/2 hours hope this helps.

hi all a couple of questions. at the moment i am heating my pond with electric 6kw elecro heater and am thinking of changing to oil (no gass where we are) pond is 5000 gals with a possible upgrade next year to 7000. so what size boiler btu and heat exchanger would i need thanks in addvance for any r...

However, i now feel its time for me to push on with the hobby and move up to higher grade fish. hi if your going for better fish i would highly recomend a backi shower you won't beleave the difference they make. i only have a three tier shower (because of hight) on my pond but i have two aquamax 160...

hi i run a 4500 gal pond with a nexus 300 easy of the bottom drain and a backi shower with backi media of the skimmer i don't know all the hype about the backi media but for me it works. until i put the shower on i never seemed to get a lot of growth but since the shower went on i am very happy with...
