one other question.. i am currently looking at 10000K clour temp.. is that needed for quarantine? or can i get by with lower temp ( ~5000k)

full spectrum lighting for quarantine

i have been looking for full spectrum lighting for my quarantine syste, the lack of light leads to colours fading on the fish if they are kept indoors for any amount of time. any suggestions on sources and lighting types would be welcome.

I believe Jules has this exactly right. I had exactly this issue and followed the method that he recommends, fixed it. Material gets clogging the sits at the bottom and by pulling out the tube with the flange that you use during cleaning, you effect a reverse backflush ( at least i think it is rever...

shade and PH

pardon the naive question. but what is the relationship between shade and lower PH. my pond is in sun and i do get high 8's ... water is reasonably hard from the start but did not know that the sun caused an issue aside from weeds ( which i don't have)
