Hi Louie your pond is around 2 419 Imperial gallons heater recommendations is 1KW per 1000 Imperial gallons therefore 3KW heater is trhe best option. With a 1KW it will struggle to do the job or you will find it will be heating away pretty much all the time costing you more money to run it. As Gazza...

Medicarp or aqua master for me I have found the protein in aqua master is higher than some of the more expensive brands and had just as good growth rates from it.

If you don't have any joy let me know I will try and download the manual if I can find it on the Webb to see if I can jog my memory.
I used to use one when I was breeding discus got it from an aircon engineer at the time as they use these as well or they did not bad units to be honest.

For what I recall you press P and then the arrow down don't quote me on this as I haven't got the manual to look at I remember the header 5 as this was the table of settings it should be under parameters. Double check though Tom as I say it's been a while since I messed around with one of them units...

Header 5 parameter table in the manual will give you an idea of what you need to be looking at.
Haven't got my one anymore to be able to break down the explanation once you get the jist of the lingo written there not to bad to change.

Used to use the Kusri Masuizai found it was ok but MS222 is far better, water temperature seems to affect the timescale as well i have noticed.

Hi Manky I think your calculations are pretty on target for sure , last year I did have bubble wrap over one end as you have explained and to be honest it didn't drop below 5 degrees, had I of done it this year it would be nearer the 57pence a day. What size pond is that, Dave? Pond has 1800 gallons so its not really a great deal of water to heat, i am running a 2kw heater and as i say the pond is covered bead filter wrapped up in bubble wrap i find the heater comes on at night altough if it were a more harsh winter no doubt the costs would d...
