Re: The weather!! a newbie worries, will they die????

'Have you killed them'....................No. they will survive in lower tempertures than that. If you ice over, then I advise you keep one part of the pond free of ice/broken ice. I wouldn't worry to much.

Re: Pump - do I leave it running?

Well yes....this will run the water through your filters, which needs to happen, to enable them to mature. It would help, to throw in a couple of mutts to aid this.

Re: need an expert eye, which ones to keep?

Rich......the thing to remember about Koi keeping, is, that if you like them, then that's all that counts. Most of us started out like this, and gradually, improved the stock in our ponds, but what one person likes, there will one who dosn't.

Re: Advice please - Nexus 300

I therefore have several questions and would really appreciate any guidance/help addressing. 3. Some say a vortex should be incorporated pre Nexus whilst others say after and then through the filters, I imagine this will make a difference but what is considered the better overall option? 4. One cha...

Re: Where Can I Get Glass For A Curved Window

Andy Ummm!!!!!!, how to explain. I take it, by sourcing a curved window, you have/intend to have, a curved wall. Well, you can still have a curved wall, and flat window. The area you intend to put the window in, you can brick it out square, like a balcony/bay window in reverse, instead of a flat wal...

Now I have given some thought to this buisness of heating, and it can invoke some healthy debate......type/cost/when?...etc etc. My thought was of building a box, say 5'x 2.5'x2.5', and run pipework back and forth in said box, as much as is feasable. Then fill it with horse manure,  t...
