its worth mentioning that i believe the wattage ratings are for the output of of the uv lamp and not for the electricity used for example i have a tmc 110 uv lamp which has 2x55 watt lamps the electricity used for this is 78 watts

the airline in the bio system is probably the most altered part of the nexus either by drilling more holes, bigger holes or upgrading the line to 15mm pipe i was using an airtech 60 which should be capable of turning over between 75 and 100 litres k1 and it was not happening i was not getting good t...

i put an air ring of 22mm john guest pipe round the top outside rim of my nexus 200 in a sort of horshoe shape ( the open part of the horseshoe being where the inlet is, i then drilled 6 holes in the 22mm pipe and fitted smal airtaps (like what is on an airpump manifold) and connect flexible airpipe...

i use 2 nexus 200 on pond and have always been dissappointed with the airline and air distribution system i have tried various combinations of 15mm pipe ,various size and spacing of holes and have found that the best system is to use 6 airstones using airstones, airtech 40 airpump is get excelllents...

you need to be careful various aerated bottom drains have differing capacaties for air going through some will quote maximum of 20 litres per minutes whereas richdons bottom drain will cope with 200 litres per minute make sure you get an air pump to suit your bottom drain If in doubt ask the supplie...

i use a hunter multifuel burner to heat my 5000 gallon pond whilst i do burn some wood on it the problem with wood is that to get the output you need to replenish the wood every 1-2 hours depending at the rate the wood burns, plus the wood needs to be well seasoned and dry Instead i burn solid fuel ...
