Re: Thoughts On Treatments & Tosai
Hi gazza, well we bring in several thousand tosai a year and unfortunately they will pretty much all see some form of parasite treatment during quarantine!! Also I'm sure the breeders have had to treat regularly in Japan , more so with the lower grade consol fish. The higher the grade the more space...

Re: Aeromonas, another one checks out
Hi Duncan, sorry to here about your loss! Don't know if you missed my last post on this but you didn't reply to my question as to whether you think this could be caused by the stress of being heat ramped to 30oC and then back to 10 over space of 5-6 days? When your stat went faulty. personally I don...

Re: Dam flukes
Never been a big fan of SV! Def gets rid of the flukes, but has always seemed hit or miss with some people having bad reactions for no obvious reason :s Much prefer telmin, been using it pretty much exclusively for last 5 yrs With great results! Just rem not to use it if there's any goldfish in pond...

Re: Low winter pond temperatures
Just noticed on one of your other posts that you had issues with your boiler? Did this cause spikes or dips in your temps?
You also mentioned that you stopped cleaning your filter could this have caused a build of nasties??

Hi Duncan, where the fish/pond treated with/for anything prior to you dropping temps? Say 1-2 months before winter?

Re: How little are koi fed in dealers tanks??
Hi mike, I feed the fish in our tanks everyday, just enough to maintain healthy stocks. I am sure they would eat 10 times what I give them but with high stocking levels in relatively small volumes of water I would run into health issues very quickly!! Also if im selling from the tsnk it isn't good f...

Re: Heating the air, rather than the water?
Hi Bob , i know a couple of pwoplw who tried this and it cost a fortune compared to just heating the water! when they switched back to heating through the heat exchanger there oil bill nearly halved

Re: Kingspan fixing to pond walls
How are they used Mark? Drill, Rawlplug, then bang in these plugs? What about on the surface, does the head of the plug show up? Hi Bob , yes you just drill a 8mm hole hammer in plug then the pin gets hammered into plug to secure it, once your finished i just go round with a roll off duct tape and ...

Re: aqua cote
Hi grovsey , i have used aquakote on a few customers ponds and it does give a good finish, you have to make sure the 2 coats are done within 24hrs of each other or there can be issuses with the 2 layers not bonding. it isnt cheap though and can work out very similar in price to getting your pond f/g...
