Re: Heating

Hi Shane, I totally agree with syd`s reply he is spot on for what you have been offered if you wish to burn gas at the ever increasing prices. My system would be to use a hybrid variation by installing a heat pump with it, I am using about 80% less gas with the heat pump providing most of my heat de...

Re: Heating costs

The cost is saved by not losing the heat. As has been mentioned the boiler thermostat will cut off sooner, if the heat is not being given off through the H/Exchanger. My point is that as Koi hobbyists we do not want fast fluctuating temps etc. Koi need "stable" conditions this is what I ha...

Re: 1st pond planning,

Bob Hart did a fantastic job of my fibreglassing. I Use a CL3 but I only pull though 5,000 I think it will struggle with a 10,000 especially when its due for a clean. I Feed it via a 30" Vortex from a Bottom Drain, my B/D also feeds my Easy pod to another bottom return. I also run a skimmer to ...

Re: Heating costs

Let us know how your Leccy bill is adding up! I would suggest, not to set the stat as low as 6 degs it will cost less, yes but may not be that much beneficial to koi or filter backter as these will die off so much. The koi`s immune system will be so low, but various bugs & bacteria can st...

Re: Eazy question

Hi Liegh I gravity 4" feed to my 30"Vortex, Then tee off to a Cloverleaf CL2 multibay then pump to low level end 1. Also tee off to Easypod, then pump via U/V to another low level at end 2. This gives some floor movement towards  B/D ( pond is Heated ). I also tee off to another pum...
