Thanks for the reassurance, the cover is a woven material so probably won't be that good at keeping the heat and gases in but worthwhile lifting it just in case!

In the dark!
Due to the really cold weather i have had to put a thick nylon cover over my pond to try and keep some heat in but am affraid that the koi will not take to kindly to being in the dark day after day, will it do them any harm to be in the dark for a couple of weeks? i have asked for help with a source...

Triplewall polycarb
Does anyone know of a good but cheap supplier of the above? i am looking for 5 sheets of 16mm x 1220mm x3000mm clear polycarbonate and possibly the glazing bars to support it all, any ideas gratefully receivied.

Thanks Gazza, part of me wishes i hadn't asked!!! I think i need to spend a bit more time on the basics b4 i start getting involved in the "fancy stuff"! Mike's articles are very good though and i did enjoy reading them, thanks 4 your help.

Hi Graham, i'm in south wales between cardiff and newport, i have been told that Mike at Yume Koi is the closest in Bristol? As far as budget is concerned i would like to get a good one so i'm not replacing it after only a couple of years because its started to rust.

Thanks for those 2 links they were very informative, but i'm a bit concerned about a comment Mike made in his article about the chilling factor and that showers should only be used in fish houses and you say that yours is in the greenhouse. if i run a shower in the summer on an outdoor pond am i goi...

Flow Rate Bakki Shower
Having recently joined the forum i have a question, are there any suggested flow rates for Bakki Showers? i have a 5,500 gal pond with a Nexus 300 but am hoping to add a shower later this year but can't seem to find any info on how big a pump i should be looking at, any suggestions?
