Re: Heating costs
My pond was a 1500 gall jobby with 50mm jabfloor on base ans side walls, covered over in winter with 4 cell polycarb, and laid snug to the pond top so very little air gap. Pond was fed by 30lpm airpump over winter and temps run from 13 to 6 and back to 13 degrees over the winter months. Over 4 years...

Re: what is this?
Ahh, I remember a similar thing on my other sanke a couple of years back now I think of it. I scrapped a few fish and found a few of the usual suspects, not enough to cause concern, but seeing as I had some fmg that was coming close to its sell my date I added a 250mil bottle of nt labs FMG enough f...

Re: K.H & G.H. and the effects on koi
I have run RO for a couple of years now and sumi development on one fish has come on great, and on another it has faded so I think fish quality is the main dictator in terms of loss or gain of anything.

Found one anchor worm
My Yamabuki has been out of sorts recently, listless, lying on the bottom at times, scrapped nothing showing, so took her out one more time and think I have found one anchor worm, would one cause the symptoms that have caused me the concern? I know treatment is sedate, PP the worm so it releases its...

Re: PP And The Home Office
Sadly its nothing to do with Koi use it is to do with the out of control crime gangs operating with impunity in this country (and europe) this is the governments only (ineffective) recourse to prevent law abiding citizens from obtaining it for legitimate use.

Impressive use of airlifts, and the automation seems beautifully simple. Good job.

Re: RO & Anything RO Related
Well time to revisit this after a year of running, because we live close to the artic circle oop north, I had a crap summer temp wise, so cannot comment on extra growth after using RO, what I can definitively say is the skin quality has become epic, even the cheapies I bought last year as pond fille...

Re: Health advice for the garden pond keeper?
I have offended many a person on a few other sites with sometime some very to the point comments, we all have to learn, but that is the key 'to learn', anyone that asks for help and then fails to act on it is not learning and is inflicting cruelty and neglect on an animal that cannot get out of the ...

Re: Adding Clay any good?
I used in in my first year, only bought a small bag though, once it was used up never bothered again, I also used super c, and again once that ran out never replaced it, as above now use RO water with a once an hour turnover of the pond, the uv takes care of the green stuff and the food takes care o...
