Re: BHM - Why?
I remember reading a post on ****** site. The only reason I read it was because it was about a member about to convert from the multichamber route to BHM showers. ****** done his best to dissuade(sp?) the member to not go this route. His reasons were that he trialled identical size ponds/stock/feed ...

Re: BHM - Why?
A very experienced koi keeper friend of mine help me set up my system, 4 years ago. This by the old addage o...

Something I've done this afternoon
Will hopefully finish it before I go on hols in a few weeks, in between work, etc....... just another main beam to fix to existing bamboo filter house to hold crossmembers and then add between 5-7 crossmembers and then cut out bracing to support the main posts. It will have a polycarb roof(permanent...

Re: Nexus or Bakki Shower
Every pond needs a BD IMHO, only way to get solids to settle out and then let bio stage do it's job properly.

Re: Nexus or Bakki Shower
I haven't used bakki showers as I can't afford them!! They would be my choice if I could afford them, but remember you need to turnover pond volume approx 150-200% per hour, so you would need to pump approx 3300-4400 gph.I think a full set of showers with media(4 tier and 50 kg of media is about £13...

reading water meter
I'm starting to refill and so far I'm up to 34 cubic metres, haven't read the other dials yet.
The water meter was on 20 cubic metres when I started and these are the readings of the next dials
0.1 was 7
0.01 was 7
0.001 was 8
0.0001 was 8
how do I work out how much water has gone in ?
cheers
Carl

Re: A little advise needed on raised ponds
Someone did something like this a while ago on quite a big pond, can't remember who's pond or who did it TBH(or which BB it was on!!) They put a wide/deep concrete collar and just dug out the earth below. The earth was hard clay so the person building the pond used chicken mesh and fixed it to the h...

Re: compact sieve pipework help
Cheers Graham, it's not the input I'm worried about though it's the exit pipework.......I want to be able to get same pushfit pipe so I can just add it to exit and then gravity feed over TT. When you removed the black sliding tray thing did your tank connector then fit directly over the slotted area...

compact sieve pipework help
I bought the above mentioned a few weeks ago s/h and started to plumb it in yesterday and have hit a snag. The intention is to pump directly from skimmer up to sieve and then the outlet from sieve will feed TT of BHM(both also bought s/h), pump being used is a sequence 11,000 pumping to approx 4.5 f...

TT of BHM
I've just bought S/H a TT complete with 10kg of BHM. It's all been scrubbed, jetwashed and PP'd and is now up and running from a submersible pump off pond floor(temp arrangement) It will (when I have time and got the pipe/bits to change setup) run from the skimmer. Skimmer will be pumped directly to...

Re: Auto Top Up
It's a torbeck valve. Any decent plumbing shop will have them, b&q, screwfix, etc I am puzzled, you used the words decent plumbing shop and in the same sentence mention b&q and screwfix?????, go to a proper trade plumbers merchants better quality and LOWER prices (now thats a trade secret) ...
