Re: Un-Doing Solvent Weld Joints
The easiest way IMHO would be to take said fitting to a machine shop, ask them to turn it so that they cut out inside to original diameter........ I've haven't done this myself, but it would work. Even if they turned it so that fitting was slightly slack by a few thou, you could just put plently of ...

Re: Vortex size
I would go for the biggest diameter you can get.... it will create a slower flow in vortex and give a little more time for solids to settle out, although depends how much solids you have. You couls possibly do what I've done, as follows I have 2 x vortices as main settlement. First one is 36" d...

Re: Pond Re-Build! Help Please!
my pond is nearly 4000g and it took one man approx 7-8 hours from start to finish and that included his 'breaks'.......2 days is a bit of an exageration IMHO. When my mate Dave(dmb 0916 on this forum) was ready to glass his pond, three of us did it......a mate of ours who worked with fibreglass many...

Re: New Shower
That's one of the best things I've seen on here, very impressed.....I particularly like the way you've made the static K1 viewable so you can really see when it needs a clean and how clean it is when it's been done!! I don't know if I've missed this bit, how does the K1 not go into next chamber(show...

Re: Shower Upgrade
Hi Carl, The thing with having to much sticking over the edge is i always try to keep any obstruction away from the pond just in case. You imagine a fish jumping and slicing itself on the edge of the shower   could be the cost of a set of showers  I looked at your water level and...

Re: Shower Upgrade
Logically speaking(as I don't have showers  ) I would have though it's better to have as much of the weir overhanging the pond to create extra aeration when water meets pond surface.... you wouldn't want it just running down the inside edge of pond wall.......just a thought. Did you buy them br...

....... and a skimmer is a must to take debris/dust/leaves/insects from surface of pond, and even better if this can then be put over/through a filter of some sorts. ![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: Pond Build Help Needed!
1 4" blocks laid on their side will be sufficient, then render outside if you're not using face brick 2 probably best to have vortex system or Nexus 200 to save space 3 30w UV will be fine, profi heaters are not very good, better to get an elecro type/make, or can you not install a HX from exis...

Re: air outlet in filter
sorry.... I didn't follow the link to bottom of page!! What have you got in the filter as media....... I would let the vortex do it's job and maybe aerate the 2nd and 3rd chambers...... the 1st chamber is too small really to put any static K1 in and if you try and aerate the first one, it wil...
