Re: Plastic Bubblewrap ?

Ping pong balls! I saw an article in one of my Koi mags where a guy put hundreds of ping pong balls on the surface of his pond which he says works well for insulation and ventilation. And i guess there would be no worries about fish jumping out and getting stranded as the balls would seperate.

Re: filters and bottom drians

Hi Dave, I think most people have a gap between 1 and 2 inches on the drain cover the bigger the gap the more water it will pull through. I have been thinking on the lines of a Nexus just as a Biological filter due to the countless hours ive spent talking to people on the subject of Nexus's and who ...

Re: One of this years brood

Nice collection of home breds there, something i hope to do in a year or two, take the hobby up to the next level and give home breeding a go, if i produced just a couple with that quality i would be happy. First obtain some quality breeding stock :| Well done.

Re: Cetus sieve

This maybe of some interest to you as it was to me. I was reading through one of my Koi magazines and came across this article. The question asked was... Q "I am building an 8,800 gallon Koi pond is there any particular filteration setup ypu could recommend?" A On a pond this size i would ...

Re: Cetus sieve

Hi Carl. Best of luck with your build let me know how you get on. Kind regards....Martin. You too. Another thought i had was putting static K1 in the vortex like this (stolen picture   ) as well as in the main filter. But at the ...

Re: Nexus 300 probs

The only thing I have possibly done different to others with this installation is that I ran 4" pipe from the nexus right to the inlet of the Optimax ! using the 4" fitting that comes with the pump. Hi Mike, Im a new kid on the block and was scrolling through the site and posts and came a...
