Re: heating costs

Not an expert Ian, but my brother in law does a lot of Oil fired aplliances. as far as i'm aware the fuel can be more expensive than gas (depending on quantities bought) and the bolier would need servicing more than a gas bolier. I wouldn't think you'd save anything, especially if you'd have to buy ...

Re: Fake BHM

I think when your paying this much for media, is £40 really that big a saving?

BHM is BHM for a reason, if it aint what you expected, I wouldn't risk it!

Darren at A4 has BHM, give him a call, he won't rip ypu off!

Re: pipes from pumps

Could you not make a pipe from solvent weld that tucks neatly into the corner. then connect this to the pump either with a short length of hose or screw type fitting.

K1 Conversion

I have a 1500 gallon pond gravity fed, with a genisis 3 bay filter. I have removed the brushes from bay 2 and replaced with static k1. The pond was new in June and I had the various issues with parameter fluctuations. but nothing serious, and the fish have done quite well. However the third bay has ...

Re: Kingspan fixing to pond walls

Just remember, no more nails and these types of adhesive react when exposed to water/damp. I.e. lose their sticking proerties.

Always check the individual types.

UV Sizes?

What would people recommend for a UV on a 1500 gallon pond?

I have aquired a Yamitsu 55w but it is big, and uses a fair amount of juice! my pond will not be in direct sunlight for any more than 2 hours a day.

Re: Pond Re-Build! Help Please!

So, I just thought I would give you an update on how it's all going. Was meant to do the base a week or so ago, but the weather put a kybosh on that, and then the help that was offered never materialised. Anyways, got the old man to give us a hand, he didn't work too bad for a old rust bucket!!! :lo...
