personly i would go for a 70W (min) metal halide with a rating of 6500K
i belive that the full spectrum day light bulbs are great for us but you need some ommf to get down in the water hence reef keepers have to get higher wattage units the deeper the tank is

hi bob totally agree m8 for ages i have been trying to work out how to fit my pond into its location due to the house drain runs so was thinking of a deep end and shallow end and how best to get the bottom drain line to where the filters would be then i remmeberd being impressed reading about stream...

welcome to the forum
i would say 12 foot by 9 foot and 6 foot deep
raised about 2.5 foot out of the ground to give you a wall to sit on when hand feeding this will give you 4050 gallons not including filtration

hi steve in theory yes the 5500 is fine on turnover rate but he wants to pump through a bubble bead 1 so there is a concern over head preassure also this is a filter upgrade the 3" drain pipe is there and cannot be changed i was thinking a seq 8000s what are other peoples thoughts to the plan r...

what pump for a challenger 60 bead filter

hi all
what pump would be suitable for a challanger 60 bead filter running from a sieve straight back to the pond of approx 4000-4500g would a seq 15000 be up to it
