Re: Air Up Lifts

I think you need more pipes and stones for the one air pump. I used a 60L pump and about 8 air lifts/stones Mine wasnt in pipes though but a bodge filter in the shed with limited room. Not been on this site for ages but there is one member done a glass pond above ground and used air to move, try and...

Re: Air Up Lifts

Not sure of your set-up but if you could explain it a bit then help will come but you dont need air stones in the bottom drain but in the up lift part to your filter. If you put a pipe in your pond to "near the bottom" and put an air stone in the pipe a few inches up from the bottom of the...

Re: Air Up Lifts

not been on this site for a while but filter on QT in shed has been running 6 months with air uplifts in filter, only way really cos filter was "adapted" when I got it so water seeps in from all 4 chambers in CL1 when water gets low so it doesnt all go through the k1 unless air uplifted! r...

It`s all proportionate...... any container, resting in the water to take the weight.

Re: improving filter effiency.

I have the same problems amanda! Small garden but like to rebuild, easier than housing the fish and can take my time but did look at "digging" the filters in and immediately hit tree roots! Would love a blank canvas! I have a sieve and static k1 but quite a bit gets through though. Flour s...

Re: The Cetus sieve

On the compact sieve you just remove the grid and bash it on the compo heap! don`t even turn the pump off(these are pump fed) Sometimes I just grab the worst of the crap collected by hand or move it away from the overflow outlet. Some times I take out the sieve part and give it a good clean on the b...

Re: bubbles

Anything works but probably a bought one works better. My MKIII is the worst one I built but it does something! 1ft bit of 4" pipe in the last bay of filter with 2 air stones in it. Funnel glued to the top and a bit of pipe taking it to a bucket!!! I do wonder though the KH has got a bit low re...

Re: Any good? your thoughts please

would it work to fit a T near the nexus with the straight through bit to waste to purge Lose the 2 x 90 bends outside the pond and keep it straight(I think you said you have to do this though) Run a pipe to centre of pond with and upside down drain on the end and air above it so you get the sucking ...
