Simply Koi and More Koi

I'm finally going to be able to build the pond but the only problem is cost. I'm just trying to find some sort of way of cutting down on costs but spending as little as possible. If anybody had any ideas it would be appreciated.

I've been doing a bit of thinking and wondered if I just got 2 containers filld both with K1 would this work as the only filtration?

My own easys? That sounds interesting. I was thinking of filling a spare container I had with K1 and then using a filter I'm having made as the main filtration.

I just had a thought, instead of buying 2 vortex. I have an tank which I was going to use for a filter anyway so if I got 2 round bins and linked the bins and the tank together would this work? Here is a diagram.

Space isn't an issue, I have around 8ftx5ft area for the filter

I'm not thinking of breeding Koi yet, as I need a pond first but I'm just curios about it. What filtration do you have on the setups? What do you feed? etc. If possible could you post some pics of your setups.
