They look good, lets hope you get lots of goshiki and not too many kohaku.

Jane, you are offering advice which could kill this koi! You cannot strip a koi until the eggs are fully ripe and freely flowing from the koi and this is obviously not the case here. A koi ready for stripping is a koi who's eggs are just falling out, it takes no affort to remove them and if this koi...

£50.00 is fine, I'll not accept any more than £100. It would be good for someone who would really like a large koi and has none. I have decided I will bring the koi to the open weekend for collection. I was hoping to move it on before, because I shall have large numbers of koi, but what is one...

Chagoi for KHV
I have one of my 'baby' 19 month old chagoi at home which I should have culled a good while ago. I hung on as it was the second largest. It has a lump in the ovary area, this has been there a good while. I have hung on to it, hoping it would even out in shape. It would be a real shame to cull it now...

Bob, I agree. I use the best Japanese brood stock I can get my hands on. But my dream is to use my own bred brood stock, which are of higher quality than I can afford to buy in Japan. My job is to sellect them! Born in the UK or Japan, it's the fish on the table that matters. Maurice. No salt and vi...

Koi Uk Easter open weekend date change.
I've decided to change the Easter weekend dates due to the Easter Sunday trading rules. So it will be Good Friday and Saturday. Hope it does not effect anyone, I know those who are booked to stay over at this point in time are booked for Friday and Saturday night, so it should work OK? I'm sorry if ...

Doris, there are no hard and fast rules. The problem you speak of is not true 'egg bound', as this happens when the koi start spawning. But is more a case of eggs going rotten, often old eggs which have not been re-absorbed over winter. This is why adult female koi should be given a 'winter' at redu...
