Re: Shame about this forum

Yes it is sad that the forum isn't used as much as it once was. Duncan was key to the forum and a single person stopping had a major effect. Many of us moved on in life, I no longer keep koi or have a pond. I don't look in on the forum either, no real need to I guess. Here now as Max nudged me. It d...

Re: leaking pond

I'm still glassing Duncan!

Sounds like you cant keep away and want to start keeping Koi again!!!

If you want it glassed, you could put a bottom drain or side wall drain in before I do this?

Shower and BHM for sale

Hi, Moving house and need a new home for this large shower. It is normal length(1-metre) and a width and half wide, 4-tier and made from green fibreglass with a return chute on the bottom. It can sit nicely on any wall area. Contains 100kg of genuine BHM, some the original stuff, some the newer stuf...

Re: HEAT BOX as suggested to me by Bob Hart

That sounds good Justin, what pump are you using and what's the lift? I was trying to get Kim to use the lowest possible wattage pump and keep the heat box only just above the pond water level so no lift and less power required. Would love to see some pics of yours, 75 metres is a lot of heating pip...

Re: HEAT BOX as suggested to me by Bob Hart

Looks a good prototype Kim, be interested to see if it can raise the temperature. Can you measure the increase? Perhaps put the return pipe into a small container before it overflows back into the pond, then you'll be able to measure the temperature of the returning water.

Re: Kim R's new pond build

Thanks for all your comments about the pond build, it's certainly had me thinking a bit. I'm no chippy, but it was fun making up the framework. The liner window worked very well, cant think that I've seen it done like that before, but I may be wrong. Just hope Kim's house sale falls through, dont wa...

Re: Kim R's new pond build

Some pictures and dialogue to explain how I made the liner window: With the decision made to not glass the pond, I had to decide how to make the window frame from the liner I was now going to use.I had made the wooden frame up already from using the 20mm plywood, leaving an inch all round. So I fitt...

Re: Kim R's new pond build

Yes Justin, an interesting way to create the frame. The silicone will stick the liner to the wooden window frame and create the waterproofing, then the glass will be stuck to this. What 'glue' are you using at the moment Justin? Bit of a shock today though, Kim said the rented house she is staying i...

Re: Kim R's new pond build

The liner will be fitted into the pond and where the window is the liner will be smeared with silicone sealer. The piece of wood cut out for the window will be fitted on the inside of the liner where the window is and screws passed through this piece of wood and screwed into other pieces of wood on ...
